Going on holiday? Leave your pet at an in-house dog hotel.

When going on holiday, many people are faced with the dilemma of how to ensure that their dog is well cared for and provided for. There are several options to consider, depending on individual needs and preferences.

  • The first option is to look after it with relatives or friends. If you have relatives who are able to care for your dog, this is usually the best option. Your dog will stay in a familiar environment and be looked after by people it knows and likes. This will avoid the stress your dog may experience if it is surrendered to a shelter or is forced to adapt to a new environment.
  • However, if we do not have relatives who can take care of our dog, it is worth considering the services of a pet sitter. Such a sitter will ensure that your dog is cared for in their home or in your home, depending on your preference. The sitter will be experienced in caring for dogs, allowing us to be reassured about our pet’s wellbeing. It is also a good solution for your dog, as it will have constant contact with humans, which is very important for many animals.
  • Another option is to use a dog hotel. Dog hotels are places where your dog can stay while you are away. Dog hotels offer a variety of services, including walking, playing and feeding. In such a place, your dog will have the opportunity to play with other animals, which can be very attractive to your dog. However, it’s important to remember that not every pet is comfortable around other dogs, so it’s worth making sure that the dog hotel offers the option of staying alone.
  • The last option is to hire a person to look after your dog in your home. Such a person can come to your home to feed your dog, walk it and provide companionship. This arrangement is particularly good for dogs that have difficulty adjusting to new surroundings. However, it is important to remember that such a person will have access to our home, which can be a problem for some people.

Whichever option we choose, it is important to make sure that the person who takes care of our dog is responsible and experienced in caring for dogs. We need to give him or her precise instructions on feeding, walking, playing and administering any medication. It is also important to familiarise the dog with the person who will be looking after it before leaving. This will avoid any stress that the dog may feel when meeting an unknown person.
